To support communities in East and Central Africa where food shortages put displaced and sick people at serious risk of malnutrition, Kwetu Kwenu provides ready-to-eat therapeutic foods and fortified blended foods for children, adults and sick people.
Ready-to-use therapeutic food [RUTF]: Made from high-energy peanuts, rich in essential minerals and vitamins, used in the treatment of severe acute malnutrition in children, adults and HIV/AIDS victims.
Fortified blended foods: Fortification of foods involves the addition of essential vitamins and minerals to improve its nutritional content. Fortification is supported by the MOH (Ministry of Health of DRC), WHO, FAO, UNICEF.
